# Before You Sign

## What it does

Helps someone pause when offered help with a VA claim or taxes: mock credential lookup, official red-flag quotes, SSA COLA card, America.gov / VA search links, a registration-only .gov check, a private on-device receipt, and free-help links.

## Who it protects

Veterans, Social Security beneficiaries, taxpayers, and family members who help them — for interview testing with people Kurt already knows.

## What it never does

- Never says a person is “real” or “fake.”
- Never reads messages, calls, or inboxes.
- Never collects SSN, bank, or passwords.
- Never uses government seals, logos, or agency colors.
- Never sends receipt data off the device.

## Build and run

Static site. Open `index.html` locally or serve the folder:
